At 14th, our mission is to inspire and empower young people, helping them develop valuable life skills through outdoor activities, leadership opportunities, and community engagement. As we continue to grow and make an impact, we’re looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as a Volunteer Treasurer.
Why We Need You
The role of Treasurer is crucial in keeping our group financially sustainable and organised. The funds we manage go directly towards providing our Scouts with the best possible experiences—from adventure camps and outdoor expeditions to leadership programs and community projects. Having a reliable Treasurer ensures we can continue offering these enriching activities.
What Does the Role Involve?
As Treasurer, you’ll be responsible for managing our group’s finances. This includes:
– Overseeing the group’s budget and ensuring funds are properly allocated
– Preparing monthly and yearly financial reports and ensuring transparency
– Handling payments and receipts, keeping track of income and expenses
– Supporting fundraising initiatives and helping us plan for future events
Don’t worry if you’re not a financial expert—if you’re organised, good with numbers, and enthusiastic about supporting our cause, we’ll provide the guidance you need.
Why Volunteer as a Treasurer?
Volunteering as our Treasurer offers numerous benefits, including:
– Making a Difference: Your efforts will directly impact the lives of young people, helping them grow, learn, and thrive.
– Gaining Valuable Skills: Whether you’re looking to enhance your financial knowledge or seeking leadership experience, this role offers great professional development.
– Joining a Supportive Community: You’ll be working alongside passionate individuals who care about making a positive difference. It’s an opportunity to form meaningful connections while giving back.
– Flexible Commitment: The role is part-time and can easily fit around your schedule, making it ideal for someone who wants to volunteer without a heavy time commitment.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who:
– Has basic financial literacy (experience with managing budgets is a plus)
– Is organised, reliable, and detail-oriented
– Is comfortable working with a small team
– Shares our commitment to youth development and community service
If you’re excited about helping young people reach their full potential and have a few hours to spare each month, we’d love to hear from you!
